Christ-Centered Counseling

For women who want to silence their “perfect” inner critic

Are you tired of saying “I can’t?”

I can’t eat that.

I can’t stop these thoughts.

I can’t break my rules.

I can’t change my routine.

I can’t be enough.

What if you never had to say “I can’t” again?

Jessie Tucker Mitchell, LCMHC, NCC, CEDS, EDIP, CTP

I offer online counseling for women in North Carolina who struggle with eating disorders, OCD, anxiety, and other issues.

Maybe you are unsure if any of these diagnoses apply to you. All you know is that you’ve been holding everything together nicely on the outside, but on the inside, you feel like you could break at any moment. Your greatest fear is losing control and having everyone see how vulnerable you are. And even though you work hard at being perfect, you never measure up to your own standards. The one thing you can control is what you eat … but somewhere along the way, your eating patterns reached a point where they started to control you.

Meet Your Therapist

Or maybe you are controlled by obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors. You feel driven to wash your hands, repeat certain words, or ask for reassurance from a loved one over and over again. Or you lie awake at night worried about the future and thinking about everything that could go wrong. As with disordered eating, OCD and anxiety can reach a point where you no longer control your thoughts and they start to control you.

But there is hope - and the chance to connect with someone who understands.

I provide therapy that meets you where you are and walks with you through the healing process. I know God does not want you to live a life of suffering, but one of deep faith and joyful living.

Why “Arch & Sparrow?”

Arches are beautiful. They add complexity to an otherwise ordinary, everyday passage. Throughout the world and throughout history, since its first use in ancient civilizations, an arch has represented support and strength.

For Christians, the arch means even more. We picture the arch over the empty tomb. We see a sign of victory. Of triumph. A bridging of spaces and a celebration of faith. It represents the most significant turning point in human history, the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. And for you, it can represent all these things and more - victory over the struggles that have held you captive for too long.

Sparrows are often overlooked or viewed as insignificant in the eyes of many. Even in biblical times, they were among the smallest and least valuable creatures. But God does not neglect them nor permit even one to fall to the ground outside His care. In Matthew 10:31, when Jesus said, “Do not be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows,” He confronts the fear and security that so often shape how we see ourselves. He also reminds us of an important truth: Human life carries great worth - not because of actions or achievement, but because God knows and cares for us. In the moments when we feel unseen, unimportant, or anxious, these words serve as reassurance that we matter deeply, that we are held in constant awareness, and that our lives carry significance far beyond what we may believe.
